Public Sector Challenge
A visual identity and fundraising website for the Public Sector Challenge, which brings public sector staff and private sector partners together to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The Public Sector Challenge brings public sector staff and their private sector partners together to take on a challenge and raise money for Cancer Research UK. It was founded by Jonathan Stephenson, chief executive of Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council.
The plan for 2024 was to go bigger and raise more than before.
To do that, the challenge needed its own visual identity, materials to carry it, and a website to support marketing, fundraising and organisation.
The identity
In the run-up to the challenge the priority is awareness, so the identity had to stand out across social media, in print and on merchandise worn by participants. We built it on a bright, fresh colour palette: blue and white at its heart, to keep information easy to digest, with a bold pink gradient to inject energy.

The website
The site had to be both inspirational and informative. It is designed to engage and to be easy to navigate, with prominent calls to action that lead people to find out more and register to take part.

It also handles the practical side of taking part:
- Participants pay their entry fee online through PayPal and select their clothing
- Each participant gets a profile where they can tell their own story
- Profiles link out to personal fundraising pages
The site is live at publicsectorchallenge.co.uk.
What the client said
It was a project with a tight timeframe and minimal resources available from us as the client, but the team smashed it and provided a great platform for the challenge that is easily navigated now by the team supporting the Public Sector Challenge. I would highly recommend Kat and the team.
