io consulting act as project architect and systems integrator for their clients: a team of highly trained, specialist engineers working across complex hydrocarbons mega projects, energy transition and front end engineering design.

In 2024, following a re-brand, the io team came to us for a complete overhaul of their website. The work has since grown into an ongoing partnership covering report design, typesetting and marketing collateral.

The brief

The new site had four jobs.

  • Reflect the new corporate visual identity and communicate io’s value in a highly technical, competitive space.
  • Be easy to manage in-house, with no web development knowledge required.
  • Support io’s thought leadership and feed their marketing and lead generation.
  • Stand as a credible source of information for clients and prospective partners.

The approach

We started by listening.

Working sessions with io’s leadership team uncovered how they wanted to show up online: not just what the site should look like, but what it should say about their mission, their team and their future.

Once the design direction was agreed we rebuilt the site completely, custom coded on WordPress. The new site aligns with the refreshed brand and is easier to use, with clearer pathways through the content and more intuitive navigation.

Technical report design

To give their clients greater certainty on their schemes, io undertakes complex research projects, with the findings presented as written reports: long, technical documents carrying a wealth of graphics and data. Rather than keep producing them in-house, io decided the reports should be designed and typeset, so the material could be read and digested easily while the data stays accurate and clear.

Our designers worked with the io team to create a look and feel that now applies across every report: full use of colour to bring the documents to life, and a style for the detailed graphics that engages the reader without obscuring the data underneath.

The turnarounds are tight, and the work is ongoing. We continue to typeset io’s final reports and research articles today.

Beyond the reports

The same partnership now covers io’s wider marketing: credentials decks with bespoke graphics, banners for conferences and events, and social media graphics to support the promotion of their expertise.
